Texas Tuscan Chandelier (a before and after)

I wanted to replace an ugly living room ceiling fan with something like this:

We loved this light from Ballard Designs. Bretagne 9-Light Chandelier. At $989, it was a splurge we could have gone for.

Until we found this:

What a steal at just $189.99 on overstock.com with $2.95 shipping. I can't believe it doesn't cost more!

So, we went from this:

to this:

Now the eye is drawn up to this airy light that finishes and balances the space perfectly. The warm glow from the 15 watt bulbs is just right and a dimmer switch was installed for even more ambiance. Wouldn't it be pretty in a grand foyer? Or over a round table? Stay tuned to see the complete living room transformation.

Wisteria Love (a before and after)

I thought you might enjoy a recent project I did for a sitting room. I have always loved secretaries.

My inspiration:

This was exactly what I was looking for:

Then the Wisteria catalogue arrived and I saw this on the cover:

The gray blue finish it came in was pretty, but after a coat of white paint, this piece looked perfect in the sitting room.

Now it looks like this:

The upper cabinet is filled with sea grass baskets to organize gift wrap, ribbons and office supplies. The bottom cabinet houses files that are now organized and out of sight.

What would we do without Wisteria? Thank you, Nate Berkus for introducing me to this shop.
